Fix oscillations and wobble in Betaflight

Not every wobble is the same: the frequency reveals the cause. Slow waggle, fast buzz and oscillation only at mid throttle each have a different source — and a different fix.

Slow waggle (1–2 Hz): usually too much I

A slow, sluggish back-and-forth over roughly a second almost always points to too much I. Lower I in small steps until the slow oscillation disappears without the axis drifting.

Fast buzz: too much P, too much D or noise

Fast, high-frequency buzz comes from too much P (overshooting correction), too much D (which amplifies noise) or from unfiltered motor noise. Reduce P to just below oscillation; if D is the culprit, more D-term filtering or slightly less D helps.

Oscillation only at mid throttle

If the wobble appears only in a certain throttle band, motor harmonics slipping between the filter notches are usually to blame. Check that the RPM filter and dynamic-notch range cover the mid band — a mechanical cause (prop, bearing, screw) is often involved too.

Read the frequency from the log
